Michelle (she/her) is a counsellor and psychotherapist with a Masters in Counselling Psychology degree from McGill University, and a member in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She has a special interest in working with women and couples as they navigate life and role transitions, with a specific focus on pregnancy, grief and loss, trauma, adjustment to motherhood, reproductive decision-making, prenatal and postpartum mood and anxiety concerns, as well as family and relationship issues. Michelle’s passion for this work grew immensely when she became a mama herself in 2019.

Each person is unique, so Michelle utilizes an integrative approach to therapy. She primarily draws upon cognitive-behavioural, emotion-focused, psychodynamic-relational, and solution-focused modalities. For Michelle, her focus is first on building a trusting relationship with you, while creating an environment that is nonjudgmental, compassionate, and safe to process all issues related to your reproductive story. A place where you can be truly yourself. You can expect warmth, a little humour, emotional support and validation, exploration of hopes and expectations, tools for stress management and coping, and empowerment with a focus on strengths.

A woman’s reproductive years can be filled with both happy and painful experiences. Sometimes the social, emotional, and physical toll of these experiences can become overwhelming and distressing. You are not alone in these reactions. If you are concerned about mood, behaviour, or relationship changes during pregnancy, postpartum, or following a loss, therapy can help. Michelle can work with you to create a plan that addresses your specific symptoms, reduces stress, builds coping skills, deepens awareness and self-compassion, restores self-esteem and hope, enhances social supports and connection, and improves overall well-being.

To book an initial free consultation, you can book online, or contact Michelle directly for more availability. She can be reached at oona@michellevittitherapy.com.
